Triathlon for Autism

"ALL friends and family laughed when I told them just before Thanksgiving of my plans to do a triathlon. My brother said, "What's that, the eating, drinking and smoking triathlon!" When I told them the first one is December 5, 2009, they fell on the floor laughing...seriously they did. Join the group and enjoy the comedy!!

Several folks asked, why would a seemingly semi-smart guy do something so stupid...talk about loaded questions!! Granted, I'm not the typical person signing up for a triathlon...I'm out of shape, hitting 40 and north of 200 pounds. For those that know me, the one think that motivates me is my kids...I'm participating in an effort to raise money for the Autism Program at AHRC. AHRC is an incredible organization that helps countless children with severe disabilities - they are caring, loving and amazing with my 7 year old son.

Donations are 100% tax deductable as a charitable contribution (I personally pay all the expenses, equipment, etc.) and 100% of the funds will go toward the next AHRC “Reach for the Stars” fundraiser.  Please click below to donate to the Triathlon for Autism.

I'm scheduled to do a sprint (5k run, 50k bike ride, ¼ mile swim) in New Mexico on December 5, 2009 - my goal in 2010 is to complete a triathlon with my son in NY.

If I have half the heart my son has and put in one-tenth the effort he does every day, I should be able to do an Iron Man!"

Thanks,
Inzie (Joey's Dad)
