Respite Services

The Community Living Program operates a Free Standing Respite house in Plainview, NY. The house can serve up to 5 individuals at a time. The management staff and direct support professionals that work at the Respite House are provided extensive training which includes, but is not limited to, first aid, fire safety, CPR, incident reporting, etc. There is both a Nurse on Call and an Administrator on Call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In order for AHRC to ensure that all of the individuals’ needs are met, the house is staffed based upon the number of individuals’ using our respite services on any given week or weekend. It is a priority of AHRC, Nassau to staff this home in a manner that will provide the safest environment possible.

The Respite House operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Emergency respite is available on an as needed basis. Advance notice for non-emergencies is required. There is no fee involved to utilize respite services.
