Autism Galaxy of Hope Autism is a complex neurological brain disorder that affects a child's ability to communicate, reason and interact with others. 1 out of every 150 babies born today is diagnosed with Autism. Most people with Autism require lifelong supervision and care. The cause is unknown and no specific medical treatment or cure exists. Optimal treatment of Autism involves highly structured specialized education tailored to each child's developmental level. Our mission is to raise the funds necessary to ensure that our children reach their fullest potential. The AHRC Nassau Autism Program serves 48 children at two locations and is committed to the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the most effective teaching methodology for Autistic children. State funding provides basic-level services but cannot fully cover all costs required to implement effective one-to-one ABA instruction. Please help our children reach for the stars.

Bruell Challenge Grant AHRC Board Member Rady Bruell initiated a challenge grant in 1996 and has generously continued it ever since. Each year Rady states that she will donate a designated amount as long as the Foundation raises an equal amount by December 31st. The Challenge takes place in November and December of each year. To date as a result of this challenge the Foundation has raised over $385,000 to benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities. If you are interested in participating, at any level, in the challenge this year please call Community Resources at 516-626-1000 ext. 1138.
Pearl & Jack Ain Advantage Care Diagnostic and Treatment Center There are certain specialty health services that individuals with developmental disabilities have difficulty accessing. Opening in 2005, the Pearl and Jack Ain Advantage Care Diagnostic and Treatment Center will fill an important gap in the health care system for these individuals. The 4,500 square feet brand new treatment Center featuring state of the art equipment and technology is located on the AHRC Brookville campus. It will provide dental, podiatric, psychiatric, neurological and primary care services, with future plans to include gynecologic services. An on going effort has been started to help fund the cost of this most important Center. To date we have raised $850,000 of this 1.8 million dollar project. Please join us and support this most important center to help enrich the health and well-being of society's most vulnerable citizens. All donations over $1,000 will be recognized on appropriate signage at the center. For more information, please call 516-626-1000 ext. 1138. |
