NYS CoP on DEI
Join this interactive session where NYS Regional Teams on DEI explore their collective journey, offering a platform to examine challenges and opportunities in an ever-changing environment. Participants will engage with peers who are equally passionate about fostering inclusion. Through storytelling and discussion, breakout groups will explore meaningful progress while acknowledging barriers that require collective innovation to experiences, creating an exchange of ideas and strategies. This session is about building a stronger network that sustains ongoing collaboration and mutual support.

About the Presenters
Dr. Sarah Gonzalez Noveiri, Ph.D. (they/them/she/her)
Dr. Sarah Gonzalez Noveiri is the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Officer at AHRC Nassau, where they have served since 2022. They bring global expertise in evidence-based systems of organizational change, with a focus on building healthier, more inclusive workplace cultures. An award-winning interdisciplinary rhetorician and critical cultural scholar, their work explores how identity, power, and culture intersect—informing practices that promote equity, belonging, and justice.
Their academic background bridges the humanities and organizational strategy, grounding their approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion in both research and real-world application.
Bridget Cariello (she/her)
Bridget Cariello is a recognized leader in advocacy, project development, and community building at both the state and national levels. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human and community services and a master’s degree in human resource management. As an administrator at AHRC Nassau, she spearheads initiatives that advance social equity, person-centered practices, and the rights of people with developmental and other disabilities.
A dedicated advocate and mother of a 28-year-old son with autism, Bridget specializes in self-advocacy, parent advocacy, policy, and leadership development. She has led the design and implementation of impactful projects such as SANYS University, DSP Pathways Long Island, and SDMNY—empowering people to understand and advocate for their rights while fostering lasting community change.
Dr. Tolulope Elizabeth Adenekan, Ph.D. (she/her)
Dr. Tolulope Elizabeth Adenekan is a distinguished scholar, researcher, and member of AHRC Nassau’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team. With over 20 years of experience in administration and information management, she holds a Ph.D. in Information Resources Management (Business Information Management), and multiple advanced degrees.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Adenekan has authored over 50 publications in esteemed journals and edited books. Her research expertise spans information management, administration, organizational development, technology management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
