Positive Behavioral Supports and the Complex Needs of Adults with Dual Diagnoses

Presented by: Christine Schulte and Julie Cannet
Thursday, July 9, 2026
6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Virtual (via Zoom)

This webinar will explore the complex and often unique needs of adults dually dianosed with I/DD or Autism and Psychiatric Diagnoses. Dually Diagnosed adults may find themselves between two different systems of support (e.g., OPWDD serving people with a primary diagnosis of I/DD and OMH serving people with mental health needs). We will discuss the impact of diagnostics, available treatments/supports and Home and Community Based Services, identifying what works and where further growth is still needed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Overview of symptomology of I/DD, Autism and co-occurring Psychiatric Diagnoses.
  • Identify benefits of clinical supports and functional environments based on individual needs.
  • Learn about the various systems of support and what each offers.

This seminar is recommended for parents, siblings and caregivers.
