Adam is no stranger to the spotlight. As he walked onto the field, Adam waved and smiled at the event crew before positioning himself behind the microphones facing an enthusiastic audience. For nearly two decades, Adam has maintained this tradition, delighting hundreds of fans who proudly sing along with him and signal appreciation with roaring cheers.

“Just thinking about how far people with Down syndrome have come,” said Amy Levine Murray, Adam’s sister, who stood alongside him and his family members. “Since 1983, there were fights about housing and stuff for people with disabilities to now thinking about that and seeing him singing, it’s kind of amazing that he’s doing that.”

Every year is meaningful. Adam’s friends and family look forward to seeing Adam share his love of singing with the crowd. Additionally, through a lively video reel, Mets fans experience the meaningful contributions people with developmental disabilities make in their shared community as well as the supports provided by AHRC Nassau.

Before heading off the field to enjoy the game with his roommates, Adam was greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Met, who struck a few poses with him and his family members for a few memorable photos.

Walking back to his seat, it’s apparent that Adam’s performance is a fan favorite. They cheer him on as he walks down the aisle and thank him for his annual contribution to the NY Mets season. Once back in his seat, he is ready for a Diet Coke and to enjoy the game.

Adam’s annual performance is more than a tradition—it’s a celebration of inclusion and community. With every note, he reminds us that people with developmental disabilities contribute to our shared community in powerful ways. Thank you, Adam, for sharing your voice and your spirit and your service with all of us.
