Evers Street residents enjoy the Valentine's Day party.Heart garlands, music, and a delicious potluck dinner set the scene for the Evers Street Valentine’s Day party on the evening of February 13.

“Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays, so I wanted to do something special,” said Elizabeth Angerville, House Manager.

The Evers Street team welcomed guests from Bellmore Avenue, Lee Street, Stewart Avenue, Maine Avenue and Vivona Court for an evening to remember.

Knowing the Evers Street housemates Kerri Ann O’Brien, Joann Cieslik, Ann Berris, Sharon Breen, and Ellen Flynn enjoy music and dancing, the team hired a DJ to spin tunes all evening long.

During the party, roommates Kerri Ann and Ann sat together to chat and share jokes. They danced alongside staff, and friends from neighboring houses. The environment was warm and festive. While the roommates and guests mingled, the Evers Street team went around making sure everyone was enjoying themselves.

Some guests were shy at first, but the Evers Street team took time to make everyone feel welcome. They offered them drinks, snacks, and appetizers.

Jade Byrne, a Direct Support Professional at Evers Street, led a group through line dances including the Electric Slide and Cupid Shuffle.

As the evening wound down, the Evers team plated dinners for their guests to take home. The food was a comforting mix provided by the Evers Street staff, staff from visiting residences, and Shaun Weathers, Vice President, who attended to show his support.

“We love seeing these events come together at our residences,” Shaun said. “These celebrations are an enriching experience for the people we support. It shows that this is their home, where they can invite friends, enjoy good times, and make cherished memories.”
