Disparities within Our Society: A Call for Understanding and Action
As part of the nationwide celebration of the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr during the month of January, the AHRC-Citizens Diversity Committee invites you to learn more about the disparities that still exist in society today and some of the beginning steps we can take to address them. We hope you find our video – “Disparities in Society – A Call for Understanding and Action” educational and inspirational.
As a means of building on the information in this video, the Committee will be hosting a two part virtual lunch and learn panel by zoom on March 9 & 16, 2021 on “Understanding and Eradicating the Roots of Systemic Racism.” The event will feature a panel of experts in Diversity, Acceptance and Belonging, and their presentations will be followed by a question and answer session. The panel discussion will be followed by an interactive discussion on systemic racism on March 16 where our employees will share their views and feelings on this important topic as well as what we can do within our agencies to address this issue. A “Save the Date” announcement to follow.
Thank you for joining us on this journey of understanding and action and we look forward to your participation on March 9 and March 16. For more information, please contact us at ahrcinfo@ahrc.org.
