Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

Make Martin Luther King Jr. Day a “day on, not a day off.”

Join volunteers and self-advocates on January 19th for a day of “reflection, unity, and service.” For the 42nd year, the City of Glen Cove, Glen Cove City School District, and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Commemorative Commission will host a Symbolic March and Program, where Lorelei Thee, DEI Liaison, will deliver a message of inclusion and hope.

In the spirit of MLK Day of Service, volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food to benefit NOSH Delivers!

How to Help:

Join us in fighting food insecurity in our community! We are now accepting donations of non-perishable food at AHRC Nassau Day Service locations and our offices in Brookville, Plainview and Freeport. We need volunteers to help us gather and deliver donations. For more information on how to donate or volunteer, email our Volunteer and Project Coordinator at jwalker@ahrc.org

Non-perishable food will also be accepted by volunteers at the Jan. 19 program.
