Wheatley Farms “Fall for All” Harvest Festival

AHRC’s “Fall for All” is more than just a one-day event. It’s an opportunity to welcome the community to enjoy a carefully curated schedule offering a wide range of activities accessible to all. From sensory-friendly spaces to creative mask-making and face painting, every experience has been designed to foster inclusivity and ensure that every visitor can participate and enjoy the festivities.

*We have done our best to make the festival as accessible as possible. Since the event is being held on our working farm and 100-year-old estate, some features may not be easily accessible for people using wheelchairs or those who have difficulty walking on uneven surfaces.

FEATURED ACTIVITIES

Big Tree Farm Logo10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm (1 Hour Tours)

Welcome to ‘Big Tree Farm,’ a historical treasure built in 1917 by the esteemed firm of Walker & Gillette, nestled in the Village of Brookville. The vestiges of Olmsted’s original landscaping are throughout the estate, which once belonged to James Norman Hill, son of renowned railroad tycoon James J. Hill. The Hill family’s passion for horticulture flourished here, cultivating numerous specimen trees and plants and garnering accolades in botany competitions. The estate features an original Lord & Burnham Greenhouse and takes its name from a colossal sycamore tree that still stands on its grounds.

Today, the Mansion and campus are home to AHRC Nassau, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities across Long Island. “Fall for All” guests are invited on an approximately one-hour walking tour that shares the enchanting past of Big Tree Farm, where captivating architecture, rich horticultural legacies, and a profound commitment to community intertwine, creating an unforgettable experience for all. (This is included with the entry fee to the event.)
