Do you know someone with disabilities who is also diagnosed with dementia? Dementia is a progressive disease and watching someone you love change during dementia can be emotional, overwhelming and difficult to understand.
A support group can offer many benefits to caregivers to help them through these changes. AHRC Nassau along with the Alzheimer’s Association of Long Island is looking to form the first group dedicated to those with dementia and disabilities.
