DSP Roseann Vaia has found her “happy place” working with the artists of the AHRC East Meadow Art Gallery, over the past year.

“Everyone is so talented and welcoming,” said Roseann. “I always wanted to work here.”

A proud crafter and former florist, Roseann relishes the opportunity to support artists on their latest projects, whether it’s creating colorful cards to celebrate artist Kirk’s birthday, prepping pieces for the Halloween exhibit, or even serving as a portrait model for artist John.

Her passion for art (she’s currently learning to paint) is only matched by her interest in making sure all the artists are happy and successful.

For this, the artists at the gallery give Roseann rave reviews.

“Roseann is helpful and makes you feel comfortable,” said John.

Marion agreed. “Roseann is a nice person. When I feel down, she comes over and talks to me.”

Jody said, “I love her! We talk about feelings.”

Roseann’s dedication to ensuring the people she supports feel good, regardless of the activity, make her a standout DSP.

“Roseann is always willing to help, no matter what the task may be! She’s one of our best additions,” said Leo Montano, assistant manager of the East Meadow Art Gallery.
